Linda Ikeji has revealed The Night of June 7th

Nigerian blogger, entrepreneur and former model Linda Ikeji has revealed her second feature film, titled The Night of June 7th.

The Night of June 7th is based on true events and tells the story of the so-called Apo 6 incident of 2005, when six members of the public were shot dead in one of Nigeria’s most infamous cases of extrajudicial killing by members of the police force.

The film is written and produced by Ikeji, directed by Toka McBaror and features a cast that includes Gideon Okeke, Femi Branch, Ali Nuhu, Nura MC Khan and April Chidinma. It will be released later this year.

Ikeji’s move to turn the Apo 6 event into a movie come after she produced Dark October last year, which focused on the so-called Aluu 4 incident of 2012. That event saw four students at the University of Port Harcourt brutally murdered by a mob who thought they were burglars, all while Nigerian cops watched.

Ikeji said: “One of the many things I’ve done in my life that I am so proud of! My second feature film, The Night of June 7th (inspired by true events), is coming to you in 2024. If you loved (or didn’t love Dark October…lol), you will love this! This movie was written and produced by me, and I can’t wait for you guys to see it. It will take you through all kinds of emotions.”
