Moreplex subscribers will be able to watch the Fix&Foxi channel, which offers entertaining and educational content suitable for children of all ages and their families, as well as Kartoon Genius!, the new two-hour branded programming block of exclusive and first-run animated content on the channel.

John Okorocha, CEO of Moreplex TV, said: “Moreplex TV is excited to have Fix&Foxi on our platform. We are sure that Fix&Foxi’s rich variety of kids-safe entertaining and educational programmes will complement and complete Moreplex TV.”

Armin Schnell, executive VP at YFE, added: “We are very excited to start our cooperation with Moreplex TV and to make Fix&Foxi available in even more African territories. I am certain the customers of Moreplex TV will enjoy the high-quality and entertaining content we offer on our channel.”

Moreplex TV is owned by Moreplex Television and licensed by Nigeria’s National Broadcasting Commission. It provides channels that are unique to Africans but also have an international appeal. It offers free-to-air, free-to-view and pay TV services across DTH, DTT, OTT and VoD platforms, and is available in 10 countries, with some 100,000 subscribers.

The news comes soon after the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) acquired the first two seasons of teen sci-fi drama series The Tribe, which made its debut in 1999, from YFE at the end of last month.

The series follows a group of young adults as they struggle to survive in a world where all the adults have been killed by a mysterious virus. Filmed in New Zealand, the show originally aired on Channel 5 in the UK between 1999 and 2003, and was produced by Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment Group.
