Warren Masemola wins The Masked Singer

South African actor Warren Masemola, star of SABC soap opera Scandal! and E.TV drama House of Zwide, has been revealed as the winner of the second season of reality singing show The Masked Singer.

In the SABC-1 series, celebrities walk on stage in head-to-toe costumes to hide their identities while they perform songs for the audience. Masemola performed under the tall mask of Giraffe.

He said: “I had a blast, fun, time of my life on season two of Masked Singer SA. Thanks to the detectives, studio audience and viewers at home for making Giraffe a winner. It’s everything I imagined when I signed up for the show, it feels good to win with every other thing I put my interests in, whether it’s a competition or not. And even if I’m doing it for myself, by myself I always enjoy coming out as a winner.”

The Masked Singer South Africa was produced by Rose & Oaks Media for Primedia Studios and SABC, and was sponsored by Andolex. It is based on the South Korean format King of Masted Singer, owned and licensed by Seoul-based MBC Studios.
