Ubongo preps kids’ show Nuzo & Namia
Non-profit edutainment organisation Ubongo is partnering with Lego Foundation to launch children’s educational show Nuzo & Namia.
The series follows the adventures of seven-year-old twins who share a special bond with their grandmother, who used to tell them stories of her travel adventures.
When she passes away, the family moves into her house to help the twins cope with their loss. In the house, the siblings discover a magic bookshelf that takes them on exciting adventures to different African countries.
The show, which will be broadcast on Cape Town TV (Dstv channel 263), focuses on the different ways kids can learn and includes an autistic main character who brings learning to all kids through the universal language of play. It also promotes inclusivity and raises awareness about neurodiversity.
Iman Lipumba, Ubongo’s director of communications and development, said: “The launch of Nuzo & Namia marks a significant milestone in our journey to revolutionise education and create engaging, inclusive content that resonates with diverse learners.
“We plan to adapt the show to over 12 languages to ensure accessibility for audiences with different linguistic backgrounds and learning styles.”
