UAE/Nigeria’s EK 782 joins Marriage Class
United Arab Emirates- and Nigeria-based prodco EK 782 has secured the rights to develop Adesuwa O’man Nwokedi’s book The Marriage Class as a six-part drama series.
Lagos-based writer Eno Udo-Affia is adapting the novel, which is about a group of adults in the same relationships counselling classes who must decide if they want to get married or not.
EK 782 was formed recently by producers Enyi Omeruah and Stephen Strachan. The outfit will produce, finance and distribute TV and film projects that represent the cultural movements of cities such as Lagos, Johannesburg, Dubai and Riyadh.
Omeruah said: “Nigeria is a society of hyper-transformation and Adesuwa brilliantly captures the dilemmas, anxieties and difficulties of relationships and marriage in the most exciting city in the world.”
