Showmax’s Wura gets second run
Showmax original Nigerian telenovela Wura is returning for a second season on the South Africa-based streamer.
Wura is an adaptation of hit South African telenovela The River and is set against the backdrop of the gold mining industry. It follows the secret life of a perfect wife and loving mother who is also the ruthless chief executive of a mining company. The River originally aired on M-Net.
Wura stars Scarlet Gomez, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Ray Adeka, Iremide Adeoye, Ego Iheanacho, Martha Ehinome, Carol King and Lanre Adediwura. The series is executive produced by award-winning filmmaker Rogers Ofime and will resume its run as a 260-episode telenovela. The first season was 100×30’ and was produced by Native Media.
