Taylaur readies futuristic crime thriller

Award-winning Nollywood producer, director and screenwriter Walter ‘Waltbanger’ Taylaur is preparing to debut a crime thriller film in 2021.

Set in the year 2041 in Lagos, Area Dogs focuses on an ambitious police inspector and her partner who set out to uncover the suspicious events leading to the presumed murder of their divisional police officer. They must also solve the mystery behind the millions of dollars found in the trunk of his car.

Produced by Taylaur and Neville Sajere, the movie is in pre-production and is due to be released in cinemas in December 2021. Its cast has yet to be unveiled.

Taylaur wrote and directed the 2015 Nigerian comedy film Gbomo Gbomo Express, which was a spin-off from 2014 EbonyLife TV series Married to the Game. He also directed the short film Wages in 2013 and Catch.er in 2017.

In the TV space, he has directed reality series including Big Brother Nigeria in 2006 and The Apprentice Africa in 2008.
