Canadian talkshow host, author and model Pumela Adolphus has moved her interactive TV show Truth Talks to Nigeria.
The programme has been launched in Lagos and airs on Silverbird TV and Television Continental. Its aim is to tell the unbiased stories of Nigerians in a way that will inspire and uplift people all over the world, according to the presenter.
Adolphus said she wanted to use Truth Talks to change negative perceptions some people have of Nigeria: “People tried to discourage me from coming to Nigeria. There are a lot of Nigerians living in Canada. But what I found intriguing about them is that they are very brilliant people. I began to ask myself why are Nigerians travelling out of their country? Why are they not succeeding in their country?
“In fact, most of the discouragements I received were from Nigerians living abroad. They kept asking me, ‘Why are you coming to Nigeria? Why are you wasting your time and money? Why can’t you stay back in Canada?’ So, I decided to come to Nigeria to see things myself. I want to showcase Nigerians in a more positive light.
Adolphus is also known for being an advocate for women and children’s rights.
