TNC Africa unveils Yoruba series

Ololade is TNC’s first show in an indigenous language

Nigerian film and TV production company TNC Africa has unveiled a new indigenous Yoruba series.

Ololade is set in Lagos and directed by Adeniyi Joseph. It tells the story of two friends – a down-on-his-luck high school teacher and a loud playboy mechanic – who both come into money in mysterious ways.

With their newfound wealth, they decide to start a business to build the kind of life they had always imagined for themselves. However, they are not quite prepared for the bad luck that follows.

The cast includes Kunle Idowu, Femi Adebayo, Mercy Aigbe, Mide Martins, Adebowale Adedayo, Kunle Idowu, Jaiye Kuti and Damilola Oni.

TNC Africa was founded in 2021 by CEO Olawale Adetula alongside Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Daniel Aideyan. Its credits include Little Black Book, Our Best Friend’s Wedding and A-Zed.

Joseph said on Instagram: “I directed my debut web series, TNC’s first ever show in an indigenous language, and the writing team was led by the legendary Lani Aisida, the same person who wrote My Name is Azed.

“I honestly pray that you love Ololade like we loved making it. I am excited to join the TNC team, led by the intelligent mind of Wale, the very cool and listening Daniel and now the delectable Gbemi.”

Ololade is the fifth production from the year-old outfit and its first original title for 2022. The release date for Ololade has yet to be announced.

I have always been part of the TNC family. From the days when we launched the website and created a community, where young Nigerians could express themselves, to hosting and curating those interesting TNC events and parties. If you ever attended one of those, you would know we created magic.

“And then actually starring in web series – it has been quite the journey. I am so ready to continue building with Olawale Adetula and Daniel Aideyan. Watch this space. We hit 2022 flying, not running.”

Adetula added: “The red lion has joined the team. I’m super happy to finally let everyone know that my longtime friend Gbemi has joined myself and Daniel as co-founders and executive producers at TNC Africa.
