A financial help book that shares the experiences of five young women in Nigeria is being adapted into a TV series set to premiere in September on Africa Magic.
The Smart Money Tribe: An African Woman’s Guide to Making Bank, was written by Arese Ugwu. It came soon after Ugwu’s previous bestseller, The Smart Money Woman.
The 13×30′ drama adaptation is being executive produced by the author, directed by Bunmi Ajakaiye and coproduced by Kemi Lala Akindoju, Akintunde ‘Marine’ Marinho and Arcadia TV Africa
The show is described as a thought-provoking exploration of African millennials’ relationship with personal finance in contemporary Nigeria and how it affects their dating and personal relationships.
It stars Nollywood actors including Osas Ighodaro (Merry Men, Bling Lagosians), Toni Tones (King Of Boys), Ini Dima-Okojie (Sylvia, Who’s the Boss), Lala Akindoju (Your Excellency, Fine) and Eby Eno (Last Days).
