Entrepreneurs enter FIIRO House

The Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi and Lashone Links Communications has selected 25 entrepreneurs to participate in its new reality show on Superscreen TV.

Touted as “Africa’s first industrial reality show,” FIIRO House is aimed at promoting indigenous technologies that can lead to job creation. The 25 successful participants, from Lagos, Abuja, Kano and Anambra, were chosen from among more than 10,000 applicants.

The show will see the entrepreneurs living together in a house for six weeks as they learn manufacturing and production techniques.

Dr. Lanre Shonekan, CEO of the Lashone Links group of companies, said: “We are expecting that tasks will be done every day in the house, but most importantly every Sunday. This will be live on Superscreen TV, where Nigerians will be allowed to vote for their choice online.

“Winners of the first, second and third positions will go home with N25m, N15m and N10m respectively. This exercise will promote indigenous technologies and local content among industrial practitioners, entrepreneurs and manufacturers, as well as provide quality sales programming both online and offline.”

Superscreen TV director of programmes Ananaba Anuihe said FIIRO House was the first reality TV show in Africa that would promote indigenous technology solutions for manufacturing and production, adding that it would also provide jobs for unemployed youths.
