Nigerian media personality Ada Afoluwake Ogunkeye (aka Folu Storms) has received EbonyLife TV’s Sisterhood Award for TV Personality of the Year at the 16th annual WimBiz conference.
Storms (pictured above) is a versatile TV presenter. Switching from the legal world to the media industry, she became a content producer and presenter at Ndani TV after a shot at MTV Base’s VJ search.
One of the numerous shows that Storms created and presents for online TV platform Ndani TV is travel diary series The New Africa. In the show, she tours the continent, exploring the sights, sounds and dishes that make each part of the continent unique.
The EbonyLife TV Sisterhood Awards are given to women in Africa from diverse industries who have made notable achievements across the continent. The award is a way of thanking them for their contributions to society and recognising them for their unsung and unrecognised accomplishments.
Speaking about this year’s Sisterhood Awards, founder and CEO of EbonyLife TV Mo Abudu said: “It was delightful to see women from diverse sectors being celebrated. I am hopeful these awards will continue for many years, so that we can continue to encourage women who are working hard to achieve their dreams and uplifting the most vulnerable in our society.”
Aside from being a presenter on Ndani TV, Storms is also an on-air presenter on radio station Smooth FM and a content provider and film maker. The 16th annual WimBiz conference took place in Lagos last week.
