Goge Africa unveils rebrand

Nigerian culture and tourism show Goge Africa has unveiled a new logo and brand identity.

The changes were revealed at an event at the Lagos office of the National Film & Video Censors Board (NFVCB) in Ikoyi.

Ahead of the show’s 20th anniversary next year, Goge Africa MD Nneka Isaac-Moses said the rebrand was required to enhance job creation through enterprise development.

The anniversary celebration will feature a gala, a tourism and culture symposium/conference, a boat cruise and an African tour to select cities.

There will also be an outreach for youths organised by the Goge Africa Foundation, while a workshop will be organised for culture journalists, who have followed the brand for years.

Metche Isaac-Moses, CEO of Goge Africa, explained that the focus areas for the brand will include tourism, events, festivals, culture, consultancy, media, production and a digital craft store.

“We want to work with young people who understand their culture and are familiar with tourist sites on their location. They will be joining us on the journey,” Isaac-Moses said.

“So, unlike when we research and come on air to educate viewers, these volunteers will be the ones speaking to us about their culture and tradition; we will all learn from them. This is part of our effort to ensure we get authentic information about locations we visit, as well as an opportunity for us to carry our viewers along.”

Goge Africa intends to partner with more corporate organisations and also to promote tourism, which is a catalyst for growing the Nigerian economy.

Isaac-Moses added: “We did not wait for government investment to begin, just like Nollywood did not. We will continue to promote tourism until we get the commensurate interest and support to develop tourism and culture in Nigeria.”
