Nigerian-American independent filmmaker Kevin Luther Appa has started production on his latest movie in Lagos.
Meeting Funmi’s Parents is a multicultural love story starring Nigerian actor Omowunmi Dada and California-based David Thomson.
It follows a newly engaged Nigerian girl who returns home with her American fiancé. The film’s producers describe it as relatable, engaging and family-oriented.
The movie is being produced by Belmont Pictures and also stars Broda Shaggi, Tina Mba, Sophie Alakija and Akin Lewis, among others.
“Every actor on this project really loved the script and I can’t wait for everyone to see the movie on the big screen,” said Luther Appa.
Luther Appa recently launched his first big romantic comedy, Dinner at My Place, which won this year’s Valentine Big Screen Market, earning gross revenue of N54.8m.
