Canada’s BirdDog Media Ventures, London-based Drive Media Rights and South Africa’s Ahoy Films are joining forces to produce and distribute an African wildlife series.
To be shot on location in and around the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa, Africa Wild Vet (8×60’) follows the adventures of Dr Chris Bossie Boshoff and his assistant Yke Osmers as they provide veterinary services in the wild to some of the largest and most dangerous animals on earth.
Africa Wild Vet is being executive produced by BirdDog Media Ventures executive chair Clark Bunting and president and CEO Stephen Ellis. It is produced by Dan Odendaal, president of Ahoy Films.
Drive, led by co-managing directors Lilla Hurst and Ben Barrett, will be sourcing international pre-sales and handling international distribution.
Ellis said: “Facing danger to help nature’s dangerous is irresistible viewing that we’re excited to bring to the screen and worldwide markets with Ahoy and Drive.”
