The 16th edition of the Future Awards Africa took place recently in Lagos, Nigeria, recognising African talent driving change across the continent.
The winners included Nollywood actor Bimbo Ademoye and film director Kayode Kasum. Ademoye won the Future Awards Africa prize for acting while Kasum took home the Future Awards Africa prize for film.
“Thank you to everyone who has seen my work and has supported me on my storytelling journey. You made this happen for me. God bless you,” said Kasum on Instagram.
“Thank you so much the Future Awards Africa. I’m so honoured. Thank you to all my cyber family. There’s no me without you,” said Ademoye.
Ademoye has acted in movies such as Dear Affy, Breaded Life, Nneka the Pretty Serpent and My Wife & I, while Kasum has directed Nollywood films and TV series including Soole, Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life, Kambili, Dwindle and Castle & Castle S2, among others.
This year’s edition of the Future Awards Africa was hosted by TV personality Nancy Isime and celebrated young people who are challenging the status quo in their respective spheres of influence.
