Adewole Adebayo, president of Nigeria’s King Adebayo Film & Theatre Arts Network Television (Kaftan TV), has been presented with the Personality of the Year award by the South West Advancement Group.
The award ceremony was held at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos’s Victoria Island and was announced on the 24/7 English-language channel’s Instagram page.
Adebayo was recognised for his outstanding dedication, diligence and prudent resource management and his outstanding performance in the private sector.
Kaftan TV public relations officer Alani Silas, who received the award on behalf of the president, said the award would spur him to do more for the South West in particular, and Nigeria as a whole.
Other award recipients included Adedayo Thomas, executive director and CEO of the National Film & Video Censors Board, and Seye Kehinde, CEO of City People Magazine/TV.
Kaftan TV operates a media production and theatre arts training outfit and produces original programming including feature documentaries, TV series and drama skits. The company launched its Yoruba-language channel in Nigeria and internationally in September 2020.
