Nigerian film producer Israel Eziedo’s new movie Aberrations will premiere at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF), which will take place in Canada from October 30 to 31.
Aberrations follows the story of a young married couple struggling to make ends meet who are gifted an estate by a raunchy old lady. An encounter with a troubled drug addict and two thieves later leads to a tussle.
Eziedo told Content Nigeria: “This is the very first movie I’m producing/directing under my new production company, The Film Genius Productions.
“First of all, I’m grateful to all my resilient cast and crew members who worked very hard to make Aberrations a reality. We literally shot this film immediately after the official lockdown when a lot of locations hadn’t fully opened up. It was almost a miracle we were able to pull it off.
“Then, of course, I’m extremely excited and grateful about the opportunity to premiere this film on an international platform. I’m also excited about all the future possibilities and, hopefully, networks that will be built from this experience. I believe that this is definitely just the beginning of Aberrations’ success story.”
The movie is produced by Eziedo and stars Michael Ejoor, Tina Mba, Segun Arinze, Adejumoke Aderuonmu, Okey Jude and Rehlia. Aberrations has also been nominated for three awards at TINFF: Best Director Africa, Best International Actor and Best Actor Africa.
