Two new Nollywood movies are set for theatrical release next month: Battle on Buka Street and Ijakumo.
Battle on Buka Street is described as a hilarious and captivating movie that features a mix of funny and entertaining actors, including Sola Sobowale as Asake, Tina Mba as Ezinne, Nkem Owoh as Maduka, Mercy Johnson as Awele, Femi Jacobs as Lanshinle and Bimbo Ademoye as Young Asake.
Premiering on December 16, the movie is directed by Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde and produced by Funke Ayotunde Akindele Network and FilmOne Entertainment.
“Buka Street is not a place for the weak. It is the struggle for amala, the sweat of the gbegiri, the slap from the pepper stew and the war of the pots. December is going to be fun. Are you ready?” said the producers.
Meanwhile, Ijakumo (meaning ‘the born-again stripper’) follows a disgraced woman called Ashabi who is on a revenge mission to destroy the life of her former lover.
Ijakumo, which debuts on December 23, is produced by Toyin Abraham, who stars alongside. Kunle Remi, Lilian Afegbai, Olumide Oworu and others.
