African VoD service Showmax, part of the MultiChoice Group, is set to premiere a new crime thriller series called Diiche this month.
Diiche is produced by James Kalu Omokwe, founder of Lagos-based production company Feemo Vision, and is also produced by Tolu Ajayi, Fiyin Gambo and Ifeoma Chukwuego.
The six-part thriller, which debuts on on September 29, tells the story of an A-list actor who becomes a prime suspect in the death of her fiance. On a mission to find out who killed him, she does all she can to vindicate herself in the eyes of the law.
Diiche’s cast includes Uzoamaka Onuoha, Daniel K Daniel, Chinyere Wilfred, Frank Konwea, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Gloria Anozie Young, Efa Iwara and Kalu Ikeagwu.
“Eight weeks of shoot, 99% of the team Nigerian, 100% African. 99.9% of the post team Nigerian, 100% African. All black cast and crew; love, blood and sweat. Watch it when it comes out,” the streaming service said on Instagram.
