Zee Magic joins StarTimes, StarSat

French general entertainment channel Zee Magic is airing on digital entertainment platforms StarTimes and Starsat in an effort to bring Bollywood entertainment to a wider African audience.

Viewers can now watch popular series including Gangaa, Mehek and Twist of Fate.

Harish Goyal, CEO of Zee Africa and Asia Pacific, said: “It is an exciting time for Zee Africa. It offers a fantastic platform to reach previously untapped parts of the francophone audience in Africa. We look forward to growing our French-speaking viewership with exceptional entertainment from Zee Magic, enjoyed by audiences across Africa.”

Zee Magic, which reaches French-speaking audiences in countries such as Senegal, Gabon, Mali, Benin and Ivory Coast, is Africa’s first fully French-dubbed channel launched on October 1, 2015.

It can be watched on StarTimes channel 41 and Starsat channel 618.

Zee Magic is also available on Canal+ channel 51, which includes Evasion, Evasion+, Tout Canal Bouquets+ and Parabole Maurice’s Flashy Bouquet channel 144.

Zee World unveils show line-up

English-language Bollywood TV broadcaster Zee World has unveiled its programme line-up for the year.

Harish Goyal, CEO of Zee TV Africa and Indian Ocean Islands, told the content upfronts in Lagos that while some dramas will be returning, others will make their debuts on Zee channels.

Zee World has lined up drama series including Bride With Benefits, Begusarai, Amma, My Golden Home and Iron. Meanwhile, Twist of Fate and King of Hearts will be coming back for second seasons.

Zee BollyNova will offer a variety of shows, such as Look Love What You Made Me Do, Fear Files, Saloni and Destiny, with The Vow set to launch in May.

“We are really excited about the wide acceptance and appreciation of our programmes here in Nigeria and we keep improving our content to keep our viewers happy. This year, we would like to assure our viewers of world-class entertainment in line with Zee entertainment’s global offering. We have a line-up of exciting new programmes across all channels to bring you the best of Bollywood,” said Goyal.

Also on offer will be a variety of Indian pop music on Zee World’s BollyTunes.

Zee World is a South African-based English-Bollywood channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises. It has viewers in more than 173 countries and airs on DSTV channel 166 and GOtv Channel 25.

Zee BollyNova airs on Kwese TV and channel 150, while Zee BollyMovies airs on DSTV channel 114, GOtv Channel 12 and Kwese TV channel 155.
