News channel France 24 has increased its coverage of African news and information related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to French state-owned company France Médias Monde, which operates France 24, the move aims to help African audiences – specifically French-speaking parts of sub-Saharan Africa – with news and information.
“The programming schedules and digital offers have been adapted to focus on news and interactivity with the multilingual audience on the continent,” said France Médias Monde in a statement.
France 24’s show Eyes on Africa is dedicated to African news and interviews about the pandemic and airs at 23.45 and 00.45 (South African time).
The channel also offers a series of short videos featuring doctors from around the world who talk about their daily lives fighting the disease and the challenges they encounter.
