Digital Lab Africa (DLA), the Johannesburg-based mentorship and incubation programme for African creatives, has selected 11 participants for its animation bootcamp.
This years cohort are Daniel iOrver, Lola Aikins, Chukwuemenka Nmerengwa, Olamide Famojuro, Tshegofatso Pitseng, Alice Pendo, Raissa Loussouf, Ferdinard Adimefe, Nermeen Salem, Sarra Ben Hassen and Shadrack Munene.
The participants will be tutored by DLA facilitators who will share their knowledge and experience with the aim of empowering the next generation of creatives with the tools they need to succeed in the ever-evolving creative industry.
The DLA facilitators include Francis Yushau Brown, Sithembiso Mphehle, Lebo Likhojane and Razahk Issaka.
DLA is linked with Innovation in Africa and supported by Agence Française de Développement, in partnership with the Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
In January to July last year, iOrver and Famojuro took part in the Creative Enterprise Support Programme, organised by Lagos-based Basement Animation and UK-based Kate O’Connor Consulting.
