African pay TV channel M-Net is gearing up to debut a second season of crime documentary series Strangers You Know.
The series, produced by Combined Artistic Productions, gives insights into murders committed in South Africa, including people involved in the case and the families affected.
The new season uncovers details about an additional four cases of South Africa’s most shocking murders and examines the deceit and betrayal that led to these that gripped the nation.
It includes insightful and emotional interviews with the friends and families at the heart of the stories and analysis from the lead investigators, forensic pathologists and prosecutors involved.
Chwayitisa Futshane, executive producer of the docuseries, said: “In a country such as ours, where violence, especially against women, is so rife, these are some of the stories that need to be told. In season two, the series really gets to grips with some of these crimes and, if nothing else, our viewers will be reminded that sometimes the most brutal killers are the strangers we know.”
Strangers You Know airs on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) on January 9 at 20.00.
