Nollywood actor and producer Ramsey Nouah, award-winning film distributor Joy Odiete and film and TV producer Chris Odeh have collaborated to launch a venture named BRS Studios.

The Nigerian venture is aimed at producing films and scaling up all the components of the value chain in Nollywood, according to the trio.

BRS is an amalgamation of existing outfits Blue Pictures Distribution, Ramsey Films and Sozo Films. However, it is not a merger of the three companies, but a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) and will only function for special projects involving the three outfits.

Blue Pictures is a Nigerian movie distribution company; Ramsey Films is Nouah’s own prodco, based in Lagos; and Sozo Films is Odeh’s management company, through which he manages Nouah.

The three firms recently collaborated on the yet-to-be-released movie Tokunbo for Netflix.

AMAA-winning Nouah (The Figuire) took to Instagram to say: “A dream, years in the making, has finally been actualised! I humbly present to you a collaboration like no other, of myself, Chris Odeh and Joy Odiete to birth BRS Studios!

”We are taking storytelling to the next level and widening our horizons as we set new records. The goal has always been to tell great African stories on a global scale and with BRS, the dream will be achieved!”

More details of the new venture are yet to be announced.
