Julius Onah, the Nigerian-American filmmaker behind 2018 movie The Cloverfield Paradox, is set to direct upcoming superhero film Captain America 4.

The news was announced by Disney-owned US film and television production company Marvel Studios.

Captain America 4 is based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name and is a sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier (2021).

In 2018, Onah directed US science fiction horror film The Cloverfield Paradox with producer JJ Abrams and his latest film, titled Luce, premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
