
Global streamer Netflix is extending its How to Ruin Christmas franchise with a new South African scripted series that will debut at the end of May.
How to Ruin Love: The Proposal is created and produced by Katleho Ramaphakela and Rethabile Ramaphakela under their Randburg-based production company Burnt Onion Productions, with Tshepo Ramaphakela executive producing
The plot revolves around a woman, portrayed by Sivenathi Mabuya, who is convinced her long-term boyfriend (Bohang Moeko) is being unfaithful.
The new show is a spin-off from Burnt Onion’s How to Ruin Christmas franchise, which has so far comprised the three-part How to Ruin Christmas: The Wedding (2020); four-parter How to Ruin Christmas: The Funeral (2021); and three-parter How to Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower (2022).
Series in the franchise usually air on Netflix in the run-up to Christmas, but How to Ruin Love: The Proposal lands on the streamer on May 31.
