Nollywood film trio set for cinemas

Anthill Productions’ romantic drama movie Hey You

Nollywood movies Hey You, Sista and Brotherhood are set for cinema release in the coming months via Lagos-based distributors Film One Entertainment and Genesis Pictures.

Romantic drama Hey You (premiering on July 29) is from Ikeja-based Anthill Productions, Sista (August 5) is from Shutter Speed Projects and A3 Vetement Films, and action-crime thriller Brotherhood (September 23) is from Greoh Studios.

Hey You is based on the notion that the most amazing things in life come from a lie. It is written and directed by Uyoyou Adia, with a cast that includes Seyi Awolowo, Timini Egbuson, Stan Nze and Rotimi Salami. Film One Entertainment distributes.

Sista, meanwhile, reveals how far a single mother will go to protect her children from her past. It is directed and produced by Biodun Stephen features such actors as Kehinde Bankole, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bisola Aiyeola, Chimezie Imo and Adedamola Adewale. Genesis Pictures distributes.

Lastly, Brotherhood follows the story of twin brothers, played by Falz and Tobi Bakre, who are on opposite sides of the law. It also stars Basketmouth, OC Ukeje, Sam Dede, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Omawunmi, Toni Tones, Jidekene Achufusi, Deyemi Okanlawon and Mercy Aigbe. Genesis Pictures distributes.

Greoh’s Brotherhood set for cinemas

Brotherhood is being directed by Loukman Ali

Brotherhood, an action-thriller movie from Nigerian film and TV production company Greoh Studios, is set to be released in cinemas on July 8.

In the film, the bonds of brotherhood are put to the ultimate test as a man, played by Tobi Bakre, and his brother (Folarin Falana) find themselves on different sides of the divide. Loukman Ali is the director.

The cast also includes Basket Mouth, Toni Tones, OC Ukeje, Omawunmi, Dorathy Bachor, Mr Macaroni, Mercy Aigbe, Boma, Zubby Michael, Sam Dede, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Jidekene Achufusi, Diane Russet, Seyi Awolowo and Deyemi Okanlawon.

Jade Osiberu said on Instagram: “Super excited to announce the cast and director for our first 2022 release. Loukman Ali is one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, so I’m so happy that he’s heading the team for the Brotherhood movie.

“The cast for this film.. I’m just so excited we could get everyone. We’ve also brought together a Pan-African crew (Uganda, Kenya, SA and Nigeria) to deliver an action-packed film like nothing you’ve ever seen from Nollywood.”

Brotherhood is distributed by Genesis Cinemas.
