German distributor ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) has begun production on a new factual series named Africa From Above.

According to its producers, the 10×52’ series will explore Africa’s spectacular people, places and wildlife, including unrivalled wild animals, mountains, coastlines, waterfalls and jungles, from a totally new perspective.

It will also travel over towns and cities to explore the continent’s history, architecture, industry and unique cultures, revealing how people survive in some of its most extreme locations.

The series is produced by ZDFE-owned Off The Fence Productions in the Netherlands, with Franco-German cultural channel Arte, Austrian pubcaster ORF, German pobcaster ZDF and BBC Studios-owned UKTV all coproducing.
