Taeps Animation rolls out new toon
Lagos-based Taeps Animation Studios, founded by Adeoyin Okuboyejo, has unveiled its latest animation production, called ĘwA.
ĘwA means ‘beans’ in the Yoruba language and the toon tells the story of a young Nigerian kid who is faced with the challenge of achieving his desires of growing taller before the next school year.
On this journey, he is forced to believe in the one thing he hates the most – eating beans – before finding solace in the black bean. Both make it their mission to get Ranti taller before the new school term.
“ĘwA will make you tall, is a common saying in Nigerian homes. Is believing enough? Fasten your seat belts, the journey is about to begin,” stated the animation studio on its Instagram page.
The show is directed by Kiitan Durosinmi-Etti, written by Bamidele Sogbesan, produced by Adeoyin Okuboyejo and Ayobami Bello and will debut on October 22 on YouTube.
Taeps Animation Studios is a family entertainment company that focuses on telling Africa’s stories to the world.
