Stephen’s Sista wins Nollywood awards

Biodun Stephen’s drama Sista won two awards at the Nollywood Week Film Festival held in Paris.

The film won the Audience Choice and Jury Prize awards for best movie.

Sista, inspired by Stephen’s upbringing with a single mother, is the story of resilience and empowerment. It features Deyemi Okanlawon, Kehinde Bankole, Bisola Aiyeiola, Tope Olowoniyan, Chinezie Imo, Blessing Jessica Obasi, and Adedamola Adewale.

“My job offers me the privilege to share fragments of me through my storytelling. I am blessed to work with actors who choose to abandon themselves to the power of the story. Sista is an ode to my mother and every single mum out there that has kept on giving,” said Stephen.
