StarTimes streams channels for free
Pay TV operator StarTimes is offering more than 150 local and international channels for free via its StarTimes ON streaming platform.
This move is a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has resulted in huge numbers of people around the world staying at home.
The content includes top TV series, local films, educational documentaries and children’s programmes across more than 150 live channels, as well as more than 20,000 hours of library programming on-demand.
Ariel Wang, operations director at StarTimes ON, said: “StarTimes will keep contributing to making people safe during this special time. Thus we opened the free access to channels and further upgraded StarTimes ON coding technology to decrease again the broadband traffic, allowing users to spend even less data and enjoy more content while using our app, and decreasing the pressure on internet and telecom infrastructures.
