According to Justin Zhang, CEO of StarTimes Nigeria, the move is in line with the company’s aim to give every Nigerian the opportunity to receive digital television while boosting their viewing experience and offering quality entertainment at a low price.

“As the fastest-growing digital TV operator in Africa and due to necessities of strategic development as well as meeting demands of African markets, StarTimes is focusing on its new pay-per-day subscription package to give subscribers affordable and convenient digital television experience,” he added.

StarTimes offers a variety of bouquet options for digital terrestrial TV (DTT) users. Subscriptions to the Nova bouquet can be had for N60 per day and N300 a week. Other bouquet options include the Basic bouquet, which is N90 for daily viewing and N450 for weekly viewing once subscribed. Subscribers to the Classic bouquet will enjoy a variety of channels daily for N180 and weekly for N900.

However, DTH subscribers can purchase the Nova bouquet for N60 per day, N300 per week and N900 per month, or N120, N600 and N1,900 respectively for Smart bouquet subscribers. The Super bouquet subscribers will enjoy a low rate of N240, N1,200 and N3,800 respectively. These bouquet plans were put into effect nationwide this month.

“Our desire is to ensure that every Nigerian family can afford, access and enjoy digital television with over 100 owned and authorised channels selected to appeal to every member of the family,” said StarTimes’ brands and marketing director, Qasim Elegbede.
