SPI, Digital Virgo expand FilmBox in Africa

Canal+ Group-owned media company SPI International and mobile payment firm Digital Virgo have partnered to expand SPI’s FilmBox channels across Africa.

The partnership covers South Africa, Ghana, Botswana, Morocco and Tunisia, as well as the Middle East nations of the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait.

The channels included in the pact are FilmBox Action, FilmBox Family and FilmBox Middle East. Together, they will offer viewers content ranging from thrillers to westerns, horror movies, science fiction, family entertainment, Hollywood blockbusters, timeless classics and popular films, according to SPI.

The channels will be part of the basic tier, ensuring widespread availability and easy access for viewers, and will be accessible on platforms in the regions covered by the deal such as PlayVOD, Veedz.TV, Unlimited Streaming, Moov TV and MTTV.
