Widows Unveiled from MultiChoice and Comcast-backed Showmax

MultiChoice- and Comcast-backed African video-on-demand service Showmax has revealed the debut of a new unscripted series tagged Widows Unveiled.

This new series delves into the lives of five widows from prominent South African backgrounds as they navigate the challenges of life after the loss of their husbands in the public eye. Widows Unveiled offers viewers “an intimate look at the journey these women undertake from grief to triumph, shedding light on the struggles and scandals they face following their husbands’ deaths,” according to producers.

The factual series features Lerato Sengadi, the widow of Motswako rapper Jabulani Tsambo (aka HHP); Mpho Tshabalala, the widow of Kwaito singer-songwriter Mandoza; Sikelelwa Ngubane, the widow of SAFTA-winning actor Menzi Ngubane; Fundiswa Molefe, the widow of businessman John Molefe; and Lerato Maphatsoe, the widow of former Nigeria defence minister Kebby Maphatsoe.

Widows Unveiled will start streaming from 12 February.
