SA thriller Unseen to debut on Netflix

Netflix is lining up its next African drama, six-part crime thriller Unseen from Gambit Films, the South African production powerhouse behind 2020 mystery series Blood & Water.

Unseen tells the story of a nondescript domestic worker who goes in search of her missing husband and comes up against powerful and violent criminals. Her reaction to the danger she faces show’s she is not as timid as she initially seems.

Starring Gail Mabalane, the series also includes a long list of South African actors such as Rapulana Seiphemo, Vuyo Dabula, Colin Moss, Shimmy Isaacs and Dineo Langa.

The show was created by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua; and the writers are Sean Drummond, Meesha Aboo and Tristram Atkins. Bradley Joshua is exec producing and Benjamin Overmeyer is producing.

The series set to premiere on Netflix on March 29.
