SA animation nominated at Annie Awards
South African animated series Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire has been nominated across various categories at the 51st annual Annie Awards in Los Angeles.
Episodes Stardust, Moremi and Surf Sangoma have received nominations in the Best Character Animation category; Moremi was also nominated in the Best Direction and Best FX categories. The episode Enkai has also secured nomination for Best TV/Media Limited Series category while the episode You Give Me Heart was nominated in the Best Character Design category.
Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire is a 10-part sci-fi anthology series commissioned by Disney+ and comprising 10-minute films directed by African animators and produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Blink Industries and South Africa-based Triggerfish Animation Studios.

The Annie Awards are accolades which the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association has presented each year since 1972 to recognise excellence in animation shown in American cinema and television. The 51st Annual Annie Awards will take place on February 17, at the University of California, Los Angeles.
