Realtime to screen EbonyLife academy film

The Funeral

The Funeral, a short film produced by students of the EbonyLife Creative Academy, has been selected to be part of the prestigious Realtime International Film Festival.

The short is directed by Odiachi Ashimedua and Godwin Nzekwe, written by Yusuf Zay and produced by Mfon-abasi Michael Inyang, Phebe Atsemude and Maryrose Emeka. The cast includes Adunolaoluwa Osilowo, Mayowa Daramola, Ebubedike Nwani, Susan Ibanga, Myde Glover, Peace Adebowale and Tega Obahor.

In the film, a woman attends her own funeral after her untimely passing. Accompanied by her spiritual guide, she must learn to forgive herself and accept her fate. In the process she discovers more than she bargained for and comes to understand that life is far more complex than she imagined, even after death.

Realtime takes place between September 30 and October 7 in the UK.

The Funeral has previously been selected for the Student World Impact Film Festival 2022, Edo State International Film Festival 2022, Black Cat Award International Film Festival 2022, Luanda PAFF 2022, The Lit Fest 2022, Lift-Off Global Network Sessions 2022 and the Indieview Festival.
