African filmmaking body Realness Institute, in partnership with philanthropic organisation The Storyboard Collective, is accepting submissions for the second edition of the AuthenticA Series Lab.

The AuthenticA Series Lab is a six-month programme that supports the development of series scripts for four screenwriters from African countries and the diaspora.

African screenwriters aged 18-plus with experience in either film or television are encouraged to submit their story concepts, which must be set in Africa and the produced work must be in English and/or a local African language.

The four selected screenwriters will have the opportunity to develop their original stories, of all genres, in episodic form.

They will receive a monthly stipend of €1,000 (US$1100) for the duration of the programme to cover living expenses as they focus on developing their concept while being mentored by story expert Selina Ukwuoma and creative producer Mehret Mandefro.

Submissions will close on June 14. To participate, click here.

The StoryBoard Collective is a Swiss philanthropic organisation dedicated to supporting the development and impact of authentic and transformative stories.

The AuthenticA Series Lab second edition is supported by Series Mania Forum, the French Embassy in South Africa and the French Institute of South Africa.
