Peace Hyde preps Netflix African series

British-Ghanaian education activist, media entrepreneur and motivational speaker Peace Hyde is set to create and executive produce an unscripted TV series for Netflix titled Young, Famous & African.

The series will feature superstars from Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania, including Diamond Platnumz, Annie Macaulay Idibia, Swanky Jerry, Nadia Nakai, Khanyi Mbau, Andile Ncube and Naked DJ.

Netflix said of the show: “This reality series follows a group of famed, affluent young media stars in Johannesburg as they build careers, look for love and rekindle old flames.”

Hyde took to Instagram to say: “We are making African history, telling our stories and I am so honoured, excited and ready. It’s been a lot of sleepless nights and early mornings but the dream has finally paid off.

“Excited to finally share that I am a creator and executive producer of the first ever Netflix Original African reality TV series, Young, Famous & African, starring this phenomenal superstar cast. Get ready world, the Africans are coming.”

The series is set for release on the streaming platform in early 2022.
