Ofentse Thinane named head of SABC1
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has appointed Ofentse Thinane as the new head of its SABC1 channel.
Thinane, who has over 16 years’ experience in the broadcasting and media industry across Africa, joined SABC in 2021 as an on-air manager.
Her career began in January 2006 when she joined Studio Zoo as a promo producer. She later became an integral part of the team at M-Net, where she played a crucial role in the launch and growth of Channel O Africa on MultiChoice pay TV service DStv throughout the continent.
Thinane also previously oversaw the introduction of video-on-demand at Kwese, another African pay TV operator.
