NWTV to broadcast FA Cup across Africa
Togo-based New World TV Group (NWTV) has secured exclusive broadcast rights to air the oldest national cup competition in football, England’s FA Cup, in 17 countries across Western and Central Africa.
The FA Cup, sponsored by Emirates Airways, will be broadcast exclusively on pay TV in Benin, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Togo and non-exclusively in Chad.
The deal, brokered by Endeavor-owned international sports management agency IMG, will enable NWTV to broadcast live French-language coverage for all fixtures from the next two seasons of the annual football competition (2022/23 and 2023/24).
NWTV is a satellite TV group based in Lome, Togo, since April 2015 and has eight thematic TV channels with contents centring on the following genres: information, sport, education, culture, music, film and entertainment in French and English.
Manchester United and Everton will compete against each other in the third round of the latest tournament on January 6, while Liverpool will start their 2022/23 campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 7. The 2023 FA Cup final will be held on June 3 at Wembley Stadium.
