Nollywood action movie Issakaba returns

Nollywood action movie Issakaba, which was produced by the late Chukwuka Emelionwu and directed by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen in 2001, is set for a remake.

The movie is currently in production, with Imasuen at the helm, alongside returning cast members Sam Dede and Chiwetelu Agu. New cast members include Chidi Mokeme, Regina Daniels, Phyna, Iyabo Ojo, Itele the Icon and Alex Usifo.

The movie follows a group of vigilantes called the Bakassi Boys fighting against crimes like armed robbery and murder cases that put fear and panic in their community.

“The reboot became necessary due to popular demand by fans on social media platforms, such as X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok,” Imasuen told Saturday Beats. “The calls for the remake of the movie have reached a frenzy level.”
