Nigeria’s Atawodi joins Netflix

Nigerian businesswoman Ebi Atawodi, former general manager of Uber West Africa, has joined Netflix as director of payments.

Her new role at the global streamer means she will be in charge of the company’s payment unit for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“Over six years ago, when I started my Uber ride, little did I know that I’d be part of a mission that changed the very fabric of how cities moved forever,” she said.

“Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with Netflix – the culture, the product, the impact it has had on the art of storytelling. [I am] excited to be joining Netflix as director of payments, EMEA and cannot wait to do the best work of my life.”

Atawodi led the products and payments team for Uber for four years.
