Nigerian Idol S7 judges unveiled

The judges for the upcoming seventh season of music reality competition show Nigerian Idol have been revealed.

New for this season are pop stars Dapo Oyebanjo (aka D’banj) and Similoluwa Kosoko (aka Simi), while music entrepreneur Obi Asika will continue where he left off last season. Award-winning presenter IK Osakioduwa will also return as this season’s host.

“Nigerian Idol Fam! Say hello to your superstar judges, D’banj, Obi Asika, Simi and host IK Osakioduwa. Now this is something to look forward to,” said broadcaster Africa Magic on Instagram.

Contestants will be judged based on their creativity, the strength of their voice and their stage performances. The winner of Nigerian Idol S7 will take receive ₦30m (US$73,000), a new SUV, a six-track EP recording deal with three music videos included, an all-expenses-paid trip to the Seychelles and a weekend getaway to Dubai for two.

The new season will air on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family from February 6.
