Mzansi Wethu lines up new reality shows

South African entertainment channel Mzansi Wethu has unveiled several new reality programmes that are set to debut on its platform this month.

The list includes I’m With Your Ex (which debuts on January 14 at 20.00), Umthwalo S2 (January 14, 20.30) and Ngithande Nami (January 21, 21.00).

Relationship show I’m With Your Ex will be hosted by Eugene Khoza. It’s a show in which people come clean that their new lover is, in fact, their friend’s old flame.

Umthwalo, meanwhile, is a show hosted by Maqhawe Khathide that will give breadwinners the chance to confront their financially demanding family members. Ngithande Nami is hosted by presenter and spiritual advisor Siyabonga Mkhize and will focus on individuals who seek answers from an absent biological parent.

Shirley Adonisi, director of local entertainment channels at M-Net, said: “In 2022, we grew the slate of original reality shows on Mzansi Wethu, and we’re continuing on that path in 2023. Saturday nights are especially exciting this January, and we look forward to giving our viewers some great entertainment that’s exclusive to the channel.”
