MTV Shuga Naija back for S5

Television drama series and multimedia educational campaign MTV Shuga Naija is returning for a fifth season.

The show follows a group of young friends as they navigate their sexual health, relationships and family issues. The new season brings back former cast members Adesua Etomi-Wellington as Sheila, Tomiwa Tegbe as Wasiu and Sharon Jatto as Simi.

MTV Shuga Naija season five is produced by 1PodPictures, led by Isioma Osaje and Temidayo Makanjuola, and is aimed at educating young people about HIV/AIDS, safe sex and teen pregnancy.

“Guys!! Big news o!! MTV Shuga season 5 is back!! Myself and my G, Isioma Osaje are producing this season under our production company 1 Pod Pictures! So you are hearing it from us! In front or behind the camera, the MTV Shuga guys got you!” said Makanjuola on Instagram.

The debut date has yet to be announced. It will be available on MTV Base, BET, SABC and NTA, followed by YouTube and Facebook.
