Nigerian broadcaster Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) has begun broadcasting its programmes in the indigenous language Yoruba.

MTA will air Ohun Islam and Imam Asiko on its free-to-air satellite channel. It will also air on MITV, via DSTV channel 255, every weekend; for viewers who have no access to the MTA satellite broadcast.

Dr Qasim Akinreti, publicist for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at religious movement, said the programme will feature dedicated missionaries from the south-west states of Nigeria in 24 episodes.

MTA is a global non-profit satellite television network and a division of Al Shirkatul-Islamiyyah, which consists of four international channels that are run and funded entirely by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. It is broadcasted internationally by satellite companies Eutelsat and SES.
