Mimi Bartels named GM of FilmOne Studios

Mimi Bartels has been named general manager of Nigerian production and distribution company FilmOne Entertainment’s newly formed prodco FilmOne Studios.

“Congratulations Mimi, we wish you all the best – also, no pressure!’” said the company on its Instagram page.

Bartels was previously head of production at FilmOne Entertainment and has over 14 years’ experience in production, film distribution, media, branding and alternative investment.

Prior to joining FilmOne, she was head of accounts for Nollywood and independent films, supervising production for seven films during the pandemic and spearheading the distribution of hit releases in Nigeria.

Her first story was developed for Toyin Abraham’s comedy film franchise Fate of Alakada in 2020 and she produced her first film, Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards, the same year.
