The partnership aims to develop avenues by which producers from West Africa, the Wider Caribbean Region and, subsequently, the Americas can develop greater economic and trade relations with each other.

The film will be shot in Nigeria and Trinidad & Tobago with actors from both countries and will become the template for future collaboration between the countries’ film industries.

According to Lanniup, production will commence later in the year. Details of the film’s plot and on- and off-camera talent have yet to be revealed.

The Real Time International Film Festival was founded in 2016 by Stanlee Ohikhuare. According to the organisers, it arose from a need for a festival where equity thrives and which focuses squarely on filmmakers, providing a gathering where they can collaborate, learn and create.

This year’s edition will feature various films from African filmmakers and will take place from August 19 to 27 in Benin City, Edo State.
